I just resealed my injection pump...can I put Regulated compressed air in the fuel inlet to check for leaks?..It's in my Suzuki buggy and a pain to get off the engine it it does have a leak. If this is possible what kind of pressure setting should be safe?

I'm not sure about Bosch pumps but I know some are tested that way, and I seem to recall 7psi of CLEAN, DRY air. But it wasn't for a Bosch pump that I read it for so it's probably useless information.

These IPs are pressurized to 43.5psi @ 1000rpm and 70something psi @2000rpm (engine rpm). I've never tested it but they're supposed to do 150ish psi 5000rpm. I would seem weird blowing air into the IP so I wouldn't do more than like 20psi at first.

An after thought, normally the fuel is sucked into IP by the vane pump which then pressurizes it, so the front seal might blow out because it might not normally have such pressure on it.

Hopefully someone else will have more to say on this.
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.
