Fuel pump?
« on: March 21, 2008, 01:00:36 am »
I understand the stock injection pump is capable of drawing fuel from the tank in pretty much all applications. But....

Has anyone thought of an additional low pressure high flow fuel pump to take the work of sucking the fuel from the tank off the injection pump and leaving it with nothing more than fuel delivery to the cylinders.

Benefits, drawbacks? Efficiencies?

Just musing out loud.....

the injection pump is capable of pulling fuel from the tank under normal circumstances, most guys on here that are trying for more HP and that are running additional boost will place a lift pump at the tank to supply fuel to the IP.
If you are not modding your engine for high HP and/or more boost, you will probably not need a lift pump, but there are no real drawbacks to using one either.
I'll try being nicer, if you try being smarter...
