Looking for 300D drag video?
« on: March 20, 2008, 10:34:43 am »
I saw a posting on here a while ago with a video of a 300D drag racing a a BMW or something.  It was an awsome video and I can't find it.  Anyone with links?  I am trying to show a friend what a diesel can do.

I repair, maintain and modify VW's and BMW's.
Good work done at affordable rates. Welding and fabricating, too.

Ya I couldn't find it on there.  I don't think it was a youtube video when I saw it.  It was a green (I think ) 300D.

That green TDT is insane! That was built by a place in Texas (forget the name now)

I have a TDT too that I love. I'm building another motor and doing a manual trans this winter, also rebuilding front end and lowering it an inch and installing some CLK 16x7's. As they say "its amazing how much power the engineers hid in these motors" I am an OM617 fan for life. I love VW's, but I got into Benz's as my family grew, now I'm hooked. I bought this after searching in vein for an99-03 Jetta wagon for a reasonable price, I spent 10K less and got alot more car!

those germans are always over engineering their equipment... the fact that there are still so many mercedes around with over a million km's speaks for itself.

that car is FAST!  i love how there is two boost gauges

Oh, I thought that was from Schuman Auto in TX.
Yea, those Fins are nutty, I have seen some vid's of ridiculous burn outs through 3rd in old 300's, must have been revving them 7500 RPM.
There's a guy there that does MBZ IP mods, people send him pumps from all over the world, cost like 3.5K US! They do some really amazing stuff over there.
Sorry for going OT, I'll try to keep this at mercedesshop.

It must be running something other than diesel fuel as the there is almost no visible smoke?

How fast can the same car be on diesel fuel only?
