Throttle linkage springs
« on: April 16, 2005, 10:37:37 pm »
Hey well I got my new pyro and tach in and working, had a little wiring problem at first, some how managed to wire them into my heater fan, so as soon as I would turn it off the gauges would stop as well  anyway I got that sorted out and decided that I would re-do the govenor mod as I have a tach again.

So I marked the shaft and started to dissaseble, got it apart too the 4 allen bolts and I either stripped it now or when I assembled it last time, but I completley finished it tonight  :x  (and its the very far back one). So very frusterated now I put the cold start lever back on tightend down the other 3 alen bolts, and put the throttle cable holder back on the pump. Then I started at the throttle shaft spring setup, and for the life of me I can't remeber which way they go, and on top of it with fighting with it I rubbed off my marks    :x   . I have a close enough idea for the throttle shaft that I will get it within the first couple of trys, but the springs ????

So to get to the point of this really long post, could some one snap a few pics of there springs so that I could get this back together.

Thanks.

Just remember that the lever rotates counterclockwise to increase the throttle - I'm sure you know that, but it never hurts to start with the obvious -

Well its all back together and running just fine. I don't know why I was having such a tough go of it last night it was really quite straight forward. (mabey I messed it up) Thanks to Jack for posting his, and to Justin for emailing me his. It turns out mine are completly differnt from either of those, but they did get me started on the right track.

The one nice thing about having to play with it is that I am that much more comfortable with the pump, and could probably remove and re-install the springs in my sleep. I also figured away to lower my idle rpm's a bit by removin gone of the brackets, and got a little more on the topend by adjusting where the shaft was indexed too.

I just wish I could have gotten the pump off as this whole losing fuel at 4000 rpm and toping out at just over 5000 rpm sucks. If anybody has some ideas on how to get that allen bolt out let me hear them.

Thanks again.
