Dyno day...
« on: March 15, 2008, 05:25:52 pm »
Today was a $30 dyno day and I was the only truck and only diesel there.
I waited two and a half hours for my turn, and alot of wierd looks. Most of the other vehicles were STI, EVO, Civic and other rice! Oh there was a Samari 4x4. I was the last one of the day. This was the first time to witness a dyno run too, so it was realy cool to watch. Here's a pic of my run.

The dotted line is the TQ. and solid is the HP. 128 ft.lbs and 88hp. and
alot of smoke. Everyone was laughing, so was I. Just before going, I finished doing the Gov. mod. They asked me what was my redline at and I said 5000. Wow he said. So thats that. The engines mostly stock except the pump mods and 2/14 exhaust no muffler.

That was a 1.6TD right?  Whats that, almost a 20hp jump over stock with just the pump tweak and a bit bigger exhaust.  Nice.

My gauge reads to 15psi but its buried when I drive it hard, like maybe 18-20psi? When they dynoed it they had asked if I wanted boost ref. hooked up, I said no because it was the first time dynoed and I did'nt really care. I know its boost'n good. Next time for sure and A/F too.

I should update the pics, sence I put the TD pump on there. It was ran with the TD pump, Gov. mod and pwr. screw turned in 1/2 turn, smoke screw turned in 3/4 turns and pump timing at 1.05mm. Hydro block and head. No intercooler, but that might be the next upgrade. I want to save the fundage for the TD Scirrocco dragster project though.
