« on: March 03, 2008, 06:23:00 am »
HI,
I just piched up a 96 passat tdi that need just about everything.
It is a rat but salvagable. needs clutch, downpipe, strut monts, maybe radiator and intercooler. Need not be stock parts, and I appreciate any info on whare to look and part recommendations.
Thanks,

AutohausAZ.com, TDIParts.com, World Impex

Downpipe won't be too hard to do.  Front struts are easy.  Haven't done a radiator.  Intercooler isn't bad at all to access.  Rear struts and clutch/trans should be included in purgatory.

clutch needed
« Reply #3 on: March 05, 2008, 08:02:51 pm »
i am looking for a good clutch to throw in tis 1996 passat tdi. I am not opposed to a good used unit, and I am not sure what will fit. I understand that there are a number of clutches oout there with better holding force than the stock unit, I just dont know what to pillage them from.
Thanks

Stick with the OEM VR6 clutch.  You can go with a puck-type from SPEC or Clutchnet but you will pay for it down the road in noise & harshness.
