Which of these turbos lying in my garage should I choose?

I have a few turbos lying around. I would like to know your opinion of which one would be the best for my 1.6TD. This is going in a custom chassis where the engine cradle has not yet been finished so linkage/firewall clearance is not an issue.

For a stock VW 1.6TD manifold:

1. stock KKK
2. stock T3

I would buy a rectangular flange manifold for these:

1. T3 from a 1986 Turbocoupe.
     A. With a .48 exhaust housing
     B. With a .63 exhaust housing

2. IHI from a 1987 Turbocoupe.
Not sure of the specs on this turbo. Supposedly this turbo spools faster than the .48 T3 from the earlier Turbocoupes.

3. Mercedes T3 with the wierd cold side doohickey, whatever it does.

My goals are lots of power up top and 50+ mpg in the 1100 lb. car into which this motor is going.

All of the turbos listed above are in good shape with little to no shaft play. Also, FWIW, this motor has a Raceware stud kit.

This is what my MB T3 looks like. I think it is probably from a 1986 or later diesel, maybe the 6 cyl?

It doesn't look like the best flowing turbo I've ever seen with that wierd wastegate. I'm thinking I'll go with the Ford T3 or the IHI.

hillfolk'r,
How does that one work for you?

Some of the IHI's had internal wastegates that were set up with a seperate vent path, into there own dump pipe instead of back into the flow going into the DP.  Better flow, better control over the wastegate.
