Me and my rabbit vs. two fords and "The Hill"
« on: February 08, 2008, 05:31:52 pm »
yeah, I was coming home one time and two new ford focuses (or whatever) pass me after leaving their high beams on behind me and blindin' me. Then they slow down  'cause it's a dark winter night, and I'm under powered so I can't pass 'em for a long time, like 40miles  . Then we get to a big hill that I only do like 45mph up and these guys are screwin' up my run at it so I tailgate 'em to make 'em get in the slow lane, one guy does soon enough and the other loser putsies along in my lane just enough to make me lose some precious speed  . When he finally moves over I floored it and made it to the top in front of 'em hahaha, stinkin' gassers. 'course they prolly weren't racing though  Anyways they stayed behind the whole way home.

'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

Haha, yeah, I was actually doing more like 60-65mph 'cause I was at the bottom still, it's at the top that I do 45, if I'm lucky

I know what you mean. Non-turbo: you sacrifice horsepower for fuel economy  . Best performance I have had on my n/a 1.6 was on the old LSD with a few ounces of Power Service additive. I was doing about 50-60 up a steep grade. Just a few harmless tricks until I can find that TD to swap.
