WTB: MK1/Rabbit Passenger Side Front Control Arm
« on: February 04, 2008, 08:35:49 pm »
Just picked up a bunny that has a considerable amount of rust damage to the underbody.  I just discovered that the passenger side front control arm was slightly cracked and was suffering from bad rust where the crack had started.  I need one of these and if anyone has one they can spare me please let me know.

I don't know of any parts rabbits close by me and since its still winter I dont really want to trudge around the bone yard quite yet, and its rare that I fine one nonetheless.

BTW...please let me know what will work..I'm guessing any year Rabbit/MK1 possible golf? control arms will work?  Let me know.

Thanks,

Evan

You can get em anywhere new for about $25.

Check out this webpage:

http://www.discountvdubparts.com/catalog/?N=&uts=true&Ntt=1992%20VW%20Rabbit%20VW%20Control%20Arm

Or you can go to your local CarQuest dealer and order one (for more I'm sure). They're universal, so side doesn't matter. The ones in this link don't have the ball joint or the bushings, so you'll need to get those as well. The bushings are cheap (like $10-15/pair), and the ball joint runs about $20-30. You can probably resuse your ball joint (assuming it's good), but it's a good idea to replace the bushings.

I'm sure someone here has a used one, but chances are it's as rusty as the one you've got (most people on this forum are up north), and probably bent in various places too.
