1985 300sd running ruff

My dads mercedes 300sd 5cyl turbo runs real ruff when it heats up but smooth when its cold. we had the injector pump, compression and injectors checked out, and we also did a valve adjustment. We think it might be timing but, any insight of what els it might be would help.

It does sound a bit like timing. Perhaps too advanced?

But then I'm a total novice, so it's just a guess.
