I was wondering if anyone swapped out the poor dim lights on there mk1 cluster for bright new led;s... This may help to give the older guys with glasses the memory of what there vintage cluster used to look like 30 years ago... before glasses an dim ace lights
I was searching thru a very fat electrical supply booklet we use often called
http://www.digikey.com/
and i got thinking....\
so many options,
Had anyone swaped there clusters lights for led;s?

Yes, I did.
Purchased them through an interweb company called 42 Draft Designs.
http://www.42draftdesigns.com/categories/leds.htm
Their pritty much plug and go, but they are polarity sensitive, and not marked as to their polarity sensitivity.
So you have to power them up in with the dash, with the dash dangling by the wires, so you can flip the ones that don't light.

Wow, thanks for the link. I've been looking for a little digital voltmeter to free up the console hole and they have a beauty.

hmmm they also have neat things like buzzers etc. i wouldn't mind installing a buzzer that goes off when the coolant temp reached 120C or so... could have saved me some engine troubles in the past when i was too busy trying to figure out why the traffic on the highway was at a standstill

I'm interested in installing these LED's into my console but I don't really know how.
