Parts I need B3/MK3 AAZ specific and TDI specific...`

So, I am going to try again here and hopefully will have better luck this time in finding what I need. The list of the parts that follows are the ones that I was supposed to get from Slyvester for $250.00 (mk2fanatic) but ended up getting my full refund back instead. He offered to send the parts, but I didn't want to pay him anything and go through that hassle again...I'd rather get them elsewhere. These are for my b3 mTDI swap that I was working on this winter and may get pushed into summer before I swap now. However, the list is as follows.
CAN specific from a B3 AAZ car...
- b3 aaz and/or diesel cluster w/ tach (all of them had tachs from what I understand), manual speedo
-b3 AAZ and/or diesel main engine wiring harness (will make the swap more "stock" and I can just plug and play the bits from my car)
-b3 diesel downpipe (this wasn't on the list...but will help...not going to pay an arm and a leg though as I'll just fab one if its an insane price)
-b3 this was an "extra" just for the convienence...but the underparcel shelves (to replace the kneebar) for the b3...not going to pay an arm and a leg there either...they were more a want than a need.
-b3 or Mk3 diesel airbox and inlet pipe
-b3 or mk3 fuel filter mount
AAZ specific...
-AAZ camshaft in good shape (this is more for the Mk1 to play around with and do some experimenting)
TDI 1z/AHU specific
-still looking for a set of injector lines for a 1z/AHU motor
(FOUND!!! Thanks Tin-Tin)
-Need a accessory bracket from a 1z/AHU or a serp setup from an AAZ motor
(FOUND!!! Thanks Tin-Tin)
-TDI starter (manual 5 speed, cable shift 02a/j style)
-10 or 11mm pump head and plunger (was getting a core 10mm TDI pump with no electronics from him)
-TDI alternator (or I may just break down and go get a VR one and swap the pulleys...I have a new clutch pulley to go on one...would run the other without one until I find another).
Thats the list right now. Most of that was what I was looking for from Slyvester and he did have all of it. I just can't see paying him again and getting it even though it was a pretty good deal....just not the way I work.
So, if anyone has leads, etc. let me know. I'd be interested in some of this stuff...

def...let me know..
If all else fails, i will just use one from an MK3 2.0 gasser engine... it is the same as the 1z/AHU, just lacks the extra ear for the injection pump brackets "extra" support. Not crucial...and can be had at the pick a part in plentiful amounts for about 25.00

The acc bracket from my 2.0's wouldn't fit! The upper portion hits the IP. I tried three of them all similar!

I ended up just buying ALH lines as I couldn't find AHU lines anywhere. You might need to do the same. I got them off e-bay for $100 in very good shape. The seller still had more when I got mine. Just an option. If you can't find it anywhere else, Mr Prothe sells 10mm heads. People were telling me the 1.6 cam may be better than the AAZ, but I have no proof. I hope you find everything without too much hassle.

I would be interested in an 11mm pump if you come across one. I have a 10mm tdi alh pump I could swap for it to. I just need the bigger pump!

i'd use the 11mm pump if i found one....
as far as pump heads go. I'll only use good bosch stuff
on the 2.0 in accessory bracket. Interesting...I think I tried one at one time and it fit....hmm, maybe not an option...

Hey guys! long time lurker first time poster. Long time fan of your 'search' function
Anyways, Joe:
This past October I had the chance to strip a '93 passat td, and I think I may have all of the AAZ specific stuff you need, except for the fuel filter mounting flange. I'll round up what I have and get back to ya.
Got anything you could trade?

I'll check to see if I still have my mk3 airbox. The mk3 fuel filter bracket is the same as the mk2 one and I have a spare if you want it. I'd love to get a mk2 airbox and if you could help me I'd appreciate it. here s what I'm looking for:

So I took a look around and this is what I found:
-passat airbox in nice shape
-turbo inlet pipe in nice shape
-uncut, not-rotted engine harness
-cluster w/ tach and mech speedo, all the lights worked, but I never had
the car running so I don't know if the tach / speedo / odo work properly
-downpipe in usable shape as far as I can tell (you never know about the
flexpipe, and like I said I never heard it run)
I'm not sure what to ask for this stuff outright. As far as trades, anything mk1 diesel specific is of interest to me. And didn't you have an AAZ NA intake manifold kicking around? I would also like to find a usable 1.6 hydro block to put together a franken motor with, but thats gonna be a project for later on, as I've got a 524 to deal with right now
.
I'll try and get some pics posted up this weekend. Let me know what you have.

Andy,
I totally missed your posting to my thread. I'm interested in the bits that you have...pics would be excellent.
An update. thanks to Tin-Tin. I have the following TDI specifics...
-hold downs
-1z/AHU injector lines
-1z/AHU water neck (front of head)
-1z/AHU accessory bracket.
I still need some of the above items and updated what I had listed...
Andy, I'll send you a PM...

Hey Joe,
Just to let you know, the mk3 airbox won't fit into a b3. The mk3 airbox I had was about 2" to high and hits the hood (at least on my car). Also i expect the pipe from the air box to turbo may not fit. The inlet pipe was to short and kept poping off - ended up splicing 2 together to make it work when I did my swap last year. I finally used a mk2 air box that also didn't fit but could be made to work.
Depending on what you want to do with the exhaust, the mk2 cast outlet pipe on the turbo will fit with a mk2 down pipe (any gas or diesel) in the b3. it dosent flow as well as the mk3 douwnpipe but it's cheap and bolts on to the t3 k24.
Givin the opportunity you can also use the coolant flange outlet from the mk3 and get rid of the upper rad hose of the b3 with it's silly molded in T for the coolant resevior. I believe the sensors are interchangeable, although I think the passat harnes will be expecting two seperate sensors and the tdi flange only has a port for one dual circuit sensor.
Hope this was some help

Been there, done that. The best cam is a 1.6TD shaft from a PRE-1990 car.
