The rabbit I just bought came witha front spoiler, which I have no use for.  Make me an offer if you're intereste; I'm 1 1/2 hours north of Seattle, so I don't know what shipping would run -

Which front spoiler is it? Is it the "duckbill" (factory VW spoiler for early rabbits) or the one from a 1983-1984 Rabbit GTI? Or is it an afermarket one?

Front spoilers are pretty useful on Rabbits. They knock a few points of the cD, giving an extra mpg or two (or more on a diesel). They also keep air from under the car and make it a little more stable at highway speeds. You don't get slapped around by the air turbulence from trucks and whatnot if you run a good front spoiler.

It's a Kamei, w/o the vents.  After your comments, I'm thinking I might want it, but I'm not sure that 1-2 mpg is worth looking kind of dorky - this would look fine on a GTI, but just doesn't seem to go with an old '79, kind of ike putting a big wing on a Hyundai...

Let me know what you decide and what you might want for it.

I don't think I'll want to use it.  it has one area where it's been cracked & repaired (I'm not sure what) but it's mainly where it attaches to the body, so probably invisible once it's attached.  Didn't you have a set of vent windows?  Maybe we can work a trade (if they can be retrofitted to a '79) -
