Does anyone know where to find good information about tuning Lucas IP's?
Not necessarily for more power but how to adjust fueling and idle, maybe some exploded views etc.

Iīm hearing all this crap about them so I want to learn more, either to prove them wrong or to understand whatīs so bad about them.

No one seems to be familiar with these  :?
I have a Skoda Pickup that has a Lucas IP, and would like to read a bit about them..
When it fails or starts leaking, which should happen any day now according to their reputation ( ), Iīll replace it with a Bosch. And then Iīll throw in the manifolds + turbo from a AAZ...

I found a brittish forum that had a description on how to increase fueling on it. It also makes the timing more advanced at the same time.
That made a big difference in power, the performance is better than in my previous Passat Eco-diesel before I tweaked it and it got better mileage too, probably caused by the advanced timing.

Do you happen to know how to increase the max RPM's (governor mod) on a Lucas? It cuts out the fuel really abrupt, itīs like hitting the brakes....

if it's anything like the bosch, the pump cover needs to be taken off to get at the governor.

I donīt remember what forum it was, itīs been months since I found it...Search the net for Peugeot and MG-diesel forums, I think that Ford Escort has a Lucas IP too, there ought to be some Ford Forums in the UK!

Found this, it has a pretty good explenation about the max fuel setting:
http://www.club-306.com/guides/306_turbo_tuning

It says that the max revs setting also raises the point where the rev limiter (governor?) kicks in, is that really true?
