List of Fuses and coresponding number
« on: January 15, 2008, 10:51:04 am »
I was wondering if anyone has a list or can remember off hand what the fuses 1-15 are for on the front of a MK1 diesel fuse panel

Im trying to figure out what fuses are blown and what there value and destination are....

I have a bentley and I spent most of the night testing the diagrams im just at a loss for where to find a fuse list in this book anywhere...

maybe Im just tired....someone please

I dont even know which fuse runs the wipers for example

are they the ones on the top of the current flow diagram under "S 1 thru 15?"

If so are the wipers on fuse S11 for example?

I could post the listing for my mkIII, but doubt that would help you any.

But I thought the fuse panel cover had the listing stamped (or molded) right into it? It does on my mkIII and I know it did on the mkIIs I had but I can't remember if it was on the mkI or not.

I think it's covered in one of the books I have at home and if it is, I'll try to post it tonight or bring the book to work and post it tomorrow.

i was wondering what each fuse was for.. 1-15

In the bentley it shows s1 thru 15 at the top in the relay panel portion of the diagram and following it down the current tracks you can see where it's connecting to its corrisonding element

Providing someone doesnt have a bentley but blows fuses where are they going to know which amp fuse and what that fuse is for...? say there missing from a previous owner...!!??

I thought someone could list this into the FAQ, I know it's basic but hey wtf im a newby..

Yes  for pre 81 at least S11 is for wipers, just work through them for your age of car.The info is all there for you to sort it.

I need to find one online thats not an astronomical price,...and not looking for it the day I was suppose to drive someone somewhere and In the morning *** wasnt working...Ive stated before that i have like 4 of those books here...none of which have the car im trying to wire in..

Does anyone have a use for one or more of these? I'll trade you for a 1980 diesel bentley

I know I need a bentley but sometimes things happen! Man sorry for asking!

Ive seen vw dealers selling those damn manuels for like 80-$100! the guy was being such a prick too...damn! All I asked for was a few wire locations to the car you love....love to hate!

Not to mention that none of that above wiper intermit stuff is in any of the bentlies i have here and it was first...my wipers that were not working!

I had a listing for the fuses, but it's not in my old book (covering the mkI) and can't find it in my "files".

But I know I have it...I'll keep searching.

Nice collection of books I can't believe that what you want isn't there  However my Haynes says that that mk1 fusebox style went up to 1983. Wiring changed 08/87 to 08/79 then 08/79 to 08/80 then 08/80 to 08/82....So
as Mr Daltry would say " Whooo Are  Yooou?? [ooh ooh]
