a friend told me that truckers will vice grip the return line going back to the tanks. i was thinking of doing this on my car but im a little concerned about the extra pressure that the pump will experience. do i have a good reason to be concerned or can i vice grip away.....(if i end up doing it. i will put a solenoid in line so i can just hit a button)
man those truckers...
i can only imagine what would happen... your return lines would probably burst off and then the engine would stall due to air in the lines.
do like op-ivy says. i've tried tapping on my pressure control valve and the butt dyno says that i've a little more power on the top end now

be careful when you do it... small taps because if you go too much you need to take it off (be VERY clean when doing so) and then tap on it from underneath. and without measuring the actual pressure, you could do more harm than good.
good luck!
and without measuring the actual pressure
do you have any ideas how we can measure internal pump pressure and/or timing advance?
Do a search. There is a thread on it along with pics of Libbybapa's adapter.
I highly doubt a trucker is going to do this to their million dollar truck
Plus I'd think if the pump is set up right, it would only hurt things power or economy wise. It would basically just be advancing the timing due to higher internal pressure wouldn't it?
FYI, there is restriction built into the banjo bolt that fastens the return line to the tank
Check the link I posted Zap. Everything you need to know is in there, including examples of adapters that people have made.
this is why i come in here and ask before i do stuff to my car

ALWAYS so much better than doing it the other way around!
