FS: Complete rabbit diesel motor (Parting out)
« on: January 08, 2008, 06:39:42 am »
I have a complete rabbit diesel motor.
Was told bout 150,000km, removed for a TD swap.
The entire engine is running, slight oil leak, not sure from where, but there is some traces of oil OUTSIDE the motor.. :D

IP is intact, working and no leaks when last used.

Motor is now being parted out.
Prices on individual parts will be posted shortly. Everything is considered OBO.
I'm not out to gouge, but make a fair offer please :)

Parts list:
Injector Pump - No known leaks $150
Injector Pump - Cold start valve leaks, easily fixed $110
Injectors - $7/each.
Injector lines - $15 / set
Glow plugs - keeping?
Intake - $20
Intake box/tube - $20
Exhaust manifold (toilet bowl style) - $30 (I don't look forward to the time it will take to get it off)
Vacuum Pump - keeping
Passenger side mount bracket (mount needs to be changed) - SOLD
Head - Make offer
Block - Make offer
Clutch - Make offer
Flywheel (still attached) - Make offer
Some coolant hoses/lines - Ask?
Alternator bracket - Sold

All items will be +actual shipping costs, or if you're local, I can meet up.
Everything is OBO, but be reasonable. Some of these parts don't come off easy and take time.

Willing to trade for some turbo diesel parts:
Intake Mani
Exhaust Mani
Oil pan/Oil feed line.
Oil cooler
Turbo

I am in need of a alternator bracket. Will you seperate it. I would buy the whole thing but it would cost too much to ship and the hassle probably be too much for you.

I might separate it. Still holding out for a buyer for the whole thing.

PM me with an offer on the bracket and we'll discuss.

Hrm.. Shipping is expensive.. Quite expensive... I have friends that head down to High Point University in NC frequently. They may be able to bring it down with them, but you'd have to meet them, and i'd still have to pay them to bring it down. You want me to explore that route?

You don't rev a VW diesel, you increase the clatter.

there will be two oil galleys in the head instead of two to tell from the outside, look for two vertical lumps running from the top of the head to the bottom, one is behind the injection pump, the other is right beside it towards the PTO side of the engine. if you are still confused look at the following link.

Hrm, then by the looks of it it's not a hydro head.

If you are interested, just make an offer for it.

Pics will be up later on tonight.
