« on: January 04, 2008, 06:24:40 pm »
Hi,

can anyone help me with numbers in Psi or Kg for oilpressure at idle, 2000, 3000 rpm, and max pressure in a warm AAZ?

Mine had 40 psi @ 2000 and 50-55 @ 4000 warm.

The service manual gives one number:

- at the oil filter flange
- 2000 RPM
- engine at normal temp (fan has cycled once)

= minimum of 2 bar

Where are my problem? brand new engine head, turbo, oilpump, grinded crank, all bearings new, oversize pistons and rings 40000km.

Tested with 2 pressure meters on the engine head one electric and one mecanical.

23 psi @ 2000rpm and 40 psi @ 3000 rpm , cold@ idle almost 80 psi

oil 10w50

could it be the oil injectors for spraying the pistons?

new intermediate shaft bearings as well? Inaccurate gauge or sender maybe?
A torbo which needs and diesn"t have an oil restrictor?

The bentley numbers are for on the oil filter flange. You will have lower oil pressure at the head

Yup... lots lower... the lifters bleed tons of pressure.  Your numbers look quite close to what I get when I measure at the head...
