I'd say that is some serious "buck" for that oring.... the entire kit with a quality ULSD seals can be bought for about 20.00-27.00 depending on where you go. Ouch...

I'd let the samba know on that one....but who knows...maybe his supplier is geniune bosch?

If you'll buy the DGK 126 kit from your Bosch dealer, you'll get all the seals (minus the input shaft seal) for $11.00.
And over on the dieselparts board, you'll find instructions for free, thanks in no small part to libbybapa.

So what's stopping us from posting a Part # for the kit or an o-ring, an average price range as available from a distributor, and a link to free instructions in a classified??  :D

kit to fix your pump?

Counterpoint:

We're paying 2-3-4 bucks a gallon for diesel.  It doesn't cost that much to make... supply and demand sets the price.  I don't want to make my own, so I let someone else do it... and I line up with the rest of the people who let someone else make it, and our demand in conjunction with supply sets the market price.

Perhaps it's the same with a 20 buck kit to make all my injection pump woes go away... worth it ?

Not to me... I've read and read and then tried it for myself.

Someone else.. perhaps ?? Someone who doesn't want to read and ask questions and track down a Bosch dealer and yada yada yada ??!!!

I dunno if any of us can lay claim to "inventing" this stuff...  even if we could,  the fact that we post it on the Internet pretty much means we've given up the claim that we own it.  I post what little I know for all to share... and I've benefited immensely from those before me and after me who've done the same.  If someone finds something I did and packages it so that more people can use it...  cool !

'Course... if it was a million bucks instead of 20....    ;-)

but it's prolly a red rubberband for gasket, S.A.E. threaded bolt that don't fit, and a boinnified copy of your DIY from that diesel parts site that you wrote Andrew.
i'm sorry guys i've been having fun talking smack about this one! i hope you don't mind? i just posted the link to see what you guys think? if he make money from this more power to him i really don't mind! just having fun making conversation! i hope you find my loopy imagination intertaining?
thanks Duane
