hillfolk'r did it and had good results, as i'm sure others on here have. it's just a really really good idea! do some searches for total seal.
stuffs awesome, ill never do a fresh engine again without it
due to another problem,i tore my engine down last month(broke head)
it has about 30 k on it since the build
the rings(total seal gapless top),and the bores look mint!!
bearings are nice too
the way i broke it in was as soon as it started and had oil psi,i brought it to 1500-1800 rpm and about every 15-20 seconds i would blip it up to 25- 28-3000 or so
after 5 mins i think i was idling at 2500 and blipping to 3000 still
after 15 mins i was around 2800-3000 idle and blipping to 3500 or so
sometimes id blip it 2x,or tighten up the time in between blips
and by blip i mean full throttle for a split second to load the rings+seat them
basically increase speed+load steadily
then i let it idle at 1200 or so for 3-4 mins than idle for 2 mins.....
shutdown and look 'round
if your rings arent seated now, they will NEVER seat
people are too ginger on break in and this can cause problems with ring seating...engines can take more"abuse" than people think
its not abuse anyways
just dont go directly to the drag strip and try to cut records
i couldnt wait to floor it when i drove it the 1st time
i only waited 20 minutes to give it a 3 -4 sec. blast in 3rd gear
only thing is i wonder if i should use it on reassembly with the used parts,i guess ill contact them
