How far off am I?
« on: December 27, 2007, 12:49:16 am »
I managed a couple test runs with the old gasser tonight...

~3300 rpm@69 mph on 31" tires. (edit: I'm getting some rubbing with the 31's...)

If I go with 30" tires I can plan on another 150 rpm

So the question is, Am I even in the ballpark running a 1.6TD at 3500 rpm doing 110Kmh? (68 mph)

Anyone running this in your converted cars and what kind of milage numbers are you seeing?

I suppose I will never have to worry about downshifting on hills....

Thanks,

I did a bunch of reading over here http://bbs.zuwharrie.com/content (look for the samurai diesel section) And found my numbers really were't that far off....

No, my numbers aren't in the "sweet spot" but I'm starting to realize they shouldn't be. At least not at that speed any way.
