WTB: oil filter flange for TD conversion
« on: December 26, 2007, 01:56:23 pm »
Just received my turbo kit from Dave but I still need the oil filter flange with the turbo oil line port on it.  Anyone have one on hand?  I'd prefer U.S., since Customs held Dave's shipment for a couple of weeks but I'm a beggar & can't be too picky.

Or, a VW part number would be helpful, too.  ETKA has been down recently, so I can't research it myself.

hey  you don't need a TD spacific oil filter flange! you can drill and tap a N/A one to work! real simple! and you can tap threads to what ever your specification needs! the center portion of the raised part of the flange it will be off center from the center of the filter! some are allready taped for a oil senser of some sort and some are not! either one you can make work!
so i hope that helps and may save you some cash if you have the tools to do it?
thanks Duane

None taken.  I've considered drilling & tapping, but I'd prefer to have it factory-made so I know that it fits & work as intended.  I also don't love the idea of a stray chip working its way through my engine.
