Need to replace fuel lines under car. Suggestions??
« on: December 25, 2007, 12:03:44 pm »
I nicked my fuel lines that run under the car when I was working under it. These are the ones that connect the tank to the filter and back from the engine. It doesn't look as simple as I hoped. There are alot of different connectors and types of hose under there. Bentley book says very little. Can I splice lines? I nicked the larger line and bent the smaller diameter one. Am I better off replacing the whole line? Where do you find the line?
Thanks
Robert

Bob, I have had success slipping a piece of neoprene fuel hose over the steel or hard plastic OEM lines, then clamping them tight with a hose clamp. It is cheap and it works. You will have to cut a small piece of the original fuel line out so there is room to push on the sleeve.
