You need the whole assembly. You can't stick an 11mm plunger in a 9mm hole. As far as what you need, what are you trying to do?

mm well i got a stock 9mm pump and want to upgrade to a 11mm plunger and 1.9td camplate.
i want to do this because i want some more power and dont like to ride with the pump in the limit.
and thatīs because the cold start lever almost doesent work and i need it sometimes in the morning as i have a 3 notch metal gasket(solid lifter head).
in cold it strugles and misses a bit when cold if the fuel screw is at is max...
i figure it would be better to have a bigger plunger and keep the fuel screw down so i can adjust the cold lever to act like stock does.
but i need the part numbers of what i need to be able to get the material...
edit:what is the max rpm with the 11mm plunger?
i still want to do atleat 5000rpm...

I am far from a pump expert, but my understanding of the cold start is that it changes the timing at lower rpms, advancing it. I'd check your timing first before spending a bunch of time and money on stuff you probably don't need.
I'll let others chime in on the rest as I probably don't know enough to give advice it.

With IDI pressures there is no (efficient) limit with an 11mm plunger
i drived a 11mm plunger and never had any problems, i seen 6000 much times, just cause its cool. (i dont know how agressive my camplate is)
the head and the plunger always need to be toghether, you cant use a other plunger with the same head, even not if the part numbers do fit.
Why the camplate, you can get so much diesel with a 11mm...
anyway, if you do use another (higher lift) camplate you need to use the 2 (stronger) springs also.
Try to make it running with stock pump and just only a 11mm, you will see it can be hard enough

You will need the TDI camplate to go with the 11mm rotor. The 1.9TD camplate won't work with the 11mm TDI rotor. If you have a 1.6 pump, you will need the springs and spring guides for the 11mm rotor/head assembly.
1: TDI came plate does not work with IDI pump.
2: 1.9TD AAZ 1995 and up have the proper came plate to adapt 11mm with bigger foot plunger.
3: I think that you have much reading to make in this forum about the pumps before answering anything.

dont buy one new, they will take your kidneys. i wudnt be suprised if you payed Ģ300
i went to my local breaker and found an 2005 AFN engine that had been dropped on the floor, they gave me the slightly damaged pump for free, i then just removed the 11mm pump and head, put it on my AAZ after a practice reseulting in snapping my origonal pump piston & 5 failed attempts lol, pumps are cheap from the scrapy and not the kind of thing that wares out. i should think any tdi after 2000 is a good bet will be 11mm+
ull need to run the AAZ camplate, trouble is that the pump is 0.58mm too big to fit the plate so will need to get a machineist to trim a bit off.
as for getting more rpm you need to do the governer mod if thats what you meen, which after youve done the pump will seem like a walk in the park
