easy way is to notice an extra oil return galley between cylinder one and two. It is similar to the oil return between three and four but a little bit smaller.I think you will need to look for a hydro block and not the head if you intend to build the 1.6/1.9 combo.
mechs are louder and have a little extra power. there might be a sticker somewhere on the car that says you need to adjust the valves every 15'000km or however many miles. if it doesn't have this it could have just worn off, but is probably hydro.hydro pro's: no valve adjustmenthydro cons: sticky valve liftersmech pro's: more power, no sticky valve liftersmech cons: need to adjust valves on a regular basis.i wonder if using really good oil could reduce the wear on the shims & cam... hmmm
