Placed a sizable order early last week, got an email on Wednesday that my CC had been billed and my order was being shipped.

Parts arrived Monday.

Last night I was going through the box, and noticed that the two "D" style early TDi crank pulleys weren't there.

Checked the packing slip, and they weren't listed.
Checked the invoice from Wednesday, it is listed and I was charged for them.

Called and waited on hold this morning. They were nice about it, and said my cc would be credited within a few days. Fair game.

What if I hadn't noticed?

Check to make sure you get everything... they aren't checking for you!

Checking your order and invoice is sound advice no matter who you are dealing with.

Glad you're getting your money back.

Good call on checking the invoice. I know I don't always do that.

Glad to hear they are coming good for it. I just placed an order with the last night so I was rather worried when I started reading this post

one time i ordered from them, they sent me everything but my injector seals (the copper washers for the TDI's)

then the next day i received them in a small packet.

the main order also included an extra windage tray...   they fit so nicely together that even i thought it was supposed to come that way!

Placed two orders for quite a few parts from them so far and only had a problem with sway bar links too small for the bar. It wasn't specified what size bar they were for on the site. They were cheap enough that sending them back was economic suicide, so I'll try to find another use for them.

Apart from that all was kosher. Definitely want to check any shipment from anywhere against what's on the packing list, as Jetta Fan points out. If the carrier weighed the package and missing parts should have made it heavier (crank pulleys and such), that could help prove you didn't get them. Little washers and such are a bit more hassle.

Also, from personal experience in industrial purchasing, if you are over-shipped (it happens!) by a regular supplier (or one you might want to order from in the future) and call to tell them, you have credibility in the bank when you call to tell them you are short on subsequent shipments. Note who you told about the over-ship and ask to speak to that same person when you are short.

Pleased to hear it all came right for you, but then again, this is Canada -Eh.  :)

Yes, there was no question that they would come good for it, my invoice listed it but the packing slip didn't.

What irked me was that when I called, they knew immediately what happened.

"OH, well we're out of stock with those"

But yet they hadn't called me, and hadn't refunded my CC until I called to ask.

Just a bit on the shifty side. When I place an order, I'll often throw in some "wish list" items for future projects. Because I don't actually need them right away, I'm not very vigilant about checking for them.

Turns out the heatshields that I ordered were backordered. They sent me an email within 24 hours of placing the order telling me that it will be credited on my CC

Makes me happy... kind of. I still want my heatshields :P

I just got a small order from them, quick and efficient.  However, the temp sensor I ordered (sits on top of the coolant manifold) is a few thou smaller than the original, so coolant leaks past.  I should have ordered a new o-ring for it, which I will at some point, hopefully that will fix it.

I don't believe we are flaming vendors. Yes everyone makes mistakes but it's all in how the company deals with it. There are a lot of scammers out there ( Far Out Parts, Cullen etc) so it's good to get feedback on companies.

Please don't use this forum to flame vendors.  I have guys in  my own  warehouse with varying degrees of experience with parts and mistakes are made on a regular basis, and I have send parts out a second time.

Thanks for telling me how to use the forum. Want to give me advice on how to start my snowblower too?
     :P

I was simply stating that people need to WATCH OUT when dealing with a company that ships an order MINUS 2 parts, without giving a credit or even notifying the customer.

I'll use them again, because they are generally very fast and pretty inexpensive. However, I'll be careful, as the thread title suggests.

Jake, that snowblower getting a good workout this year? Mine sure is.
