Funny story...
So I pull my Vw single cab with the AAZ into this metal fab place in the town I live, Chilliwack BC, lookin to get a few exhaust flanges made ... Quite a unique looking beast, with that diesel growl... a large german fellow greets me at the door and we start talking about vw's, all things diesel - he has his 94 passat parked right beside me, and he starts raving on about this " intercharger" technology, to transform crank case vapor into some kind of supercharged additive (?). Turns out he is a sales rep for the product and is at the shop to pick up some fittings for rig conversions that he is doing, and has the set up on his motor. Pops the hood and I see that he has two additional filters, one on the crank breather return to the turbo and on the fuel to the injection pump ... also with him is his retired german mechanic who is doing the conversions for him. They go on this rave about emissions and increased
HP and tourque and engine life ect, ect.
It all sounds AMAZING... and I am sceptical to be sure. So my question to you sages is - anyone heard of this? Or has done these mods with this product? They said it has been in development right here in the Fraser Valley for the past 8 years...

Um yeah sorry got that out of my system. This sounds almost like the platimum injection system my grandparents have on their dodge shadow (that dind't do anythign but make you think it was doing something and change your driving habits), the magnets really worked well too!
OK disconnect the Crankcase vent and lets see how much of a smoke reduction there is...wait none-because if we had smoke cause by blow by the engine would be running away. Sorry I don't buy it from looking at the website.
If they had the time to get all of the crappy articles scanned in they should have been able to make it to a dyno with a few different cars on the same day, same conditions and shown how this "device" improves power.
I really wish I could be optimistic about their "system", looks like an airflow restriction to me actually.
hmmm..2 to 0 for the snakeoil suggestion. I have to say I was more than a little cross eyed at their claims, having heard of the platinum filter befor, as well as the simple set up with the " secret ingedient" inside.
Just seemed to be a little scetchy to me, and the web site lacks a little
authenticity.

it just looks like a really good crankcase filter. wonder how it cleans itself?
maybe works good for a year or so and then what? i wonder what would happen if i just blocked off my vent... :lol: wonder how it would do on a vehicle with some serious blowby?
I have several problems with that site.
Fact#1: Scientists and Governments now agree that Global Warming is changing the climate of our planet drastically;
A bunch of people agreeing does not make something true. Alot of people once agreed that the sun revolved around the earth.
Fact #2: Our Government does not have a simple solution for Crankcase Emissions;
There is nothing that can be done about crankcase emissions because they are a natural and unavoidable fact of life on every internal combustion engine.
An engine smoking like this has MUCH more of a problem than crankcase vapors. it was probably long overdue for a service.

Notice the dust behind the truck on the first picture? Notice no dust behind the truck on the second? The first is heavy acceleration while the second is at idle.


That's not even comparable as the first picture is much more dimly lit than the second and the image is much more compressed to a lower quality. And how about that, it's not even a picture of the same engine, AGAIN!


The "intercharger" is total crap.

Look at the pics of the crane(?). Is that the same time of day in both pics? If the first one is in the early morning then yeah it might smoke like that unless it is warmed up.
Plus wouldn't you be changing filters alot?
If it is real then I say, hey, give us back our high sulphur diesel fuel :x

I remember seeing that system. It was pretty impressive... those bizarre magnets with green plastic coatings strapped all over the fuel lines to "molecularly re-align" the fuels so that they would burn more completely. The idea was that the molecules in fuels are all jumbled up, so we need to sort of defragment them for maximum efficiency.
Hee hee hee. I love junk science, it's so much funnier than the real stuff.
