Engine code? Depending on the year, 90 is AHU & 110 is AFN.
110 is a VNT turbo too which has the actuator under the turbo rather than at the side like the non-VNT.
Didn't the 110 have a red I on the badge too?

Our 90hp TDI has engine code AGR...
The 110hp version has a red I on the TDI-badge on the hatch, the 130hp has red D & I and on the 150hp version the whole TDI badge is red.
Other than that I donīt know, except for the VNT on the 110hp.

Yep, Passat. We have a Golf IV but they share the same engines. The 90hp AHU and 90 AGR is easy to ID.
AHU has the airfilter/box on the right side (right as seen from behind the wheel), behind the right headlight, and the IC on the left side under the battery.
AGR has the airfilter-box on the left side and IC on the right.
I think that the AHU was for the A3-platform and was used up to -98 and AGR for the A4 was used from -98 ītil the PD model arrived.
Anyway, the block is the same for all of them, a 1.9 with a bosch VE IP. The 110 has different injectors and software compared to 90hp-versions.

Ah B4? Thats easy then - we didn't get the 110 in the UK  That only made it here in the B5s.
They are all the 90BHP AHU with K03 turbo. You should get about 130-140 bhp with chip and nozzles.
It's likely you will need to send your ECU off to have the eproms professionally removed as they are soldered to the board, and the AHUs are surface mount so you need specialised gear to get them off.
So far I haven't found anyone in the UK who can do this. I tried Upsolute, but they were't interested, and I don't think Kerma have an agent here. Jeff @ RC will do it, but you have to post your ECU to the states

OK, what about the polo estate tdi? I have seen those with the 1.9 engine in on autotrader and could probably stretch to 1 of those? Whats the engine code and spec of those?
Cheers guys

That'll still be an AHU with the same ECU. Basically everything TDI needs soldering. Once you get to the PD engines its then OBDII and can be chipped online without taking anything apart.
A lot of the specialist chip tuners can desolder the chips, but they specialise in petrol engines and don't have a clue what to do with TDIs. We need the specialists like RC, Kerma, etc but they are all stateside.
I can do the soldering work if I get the right tools, since I need to do mine anyway. If we can share the cost out between a few of us then it could be feasible...?

I need a hot air rework station to get the chips off the board safely. Have a look on ebay to see what I mean. I've actually managed to borrow one from a friend so I'll be putting sockets in my ECU pretty soon
I'll post pics when I do. If you do get a Passat hopefully I'll be able to sort it for you
