Where to buy 1.6 Ecodiesel Rebuild Kits
« on: November 19, 2007, 12:10:10 am »
I am new to the Forum here, I have been reading posts for months now.  I am going to be rebuilding my 1992 Ecodiesel and I need a complete rebuild kit.  I have been searching the net and can only find some of the parts.  Does anyone know a good source for engine parts.

You want to rebuild the engine? Get the kits for a 1.6TD, they're the same.

www.germanautoparts.com and bestpricecarparts.com should have the kits.

Acutally I've been meaning to comment on this for awhile.

I got a victor reinz gasket set for my rebuild and it seemed kind of pointless.  I think the only parts I used from it was the intake gasket, and the F&R main, cam and intermediate shaft seals.

1.  I bought other upgraded exhaust manifold gaskets to prevent blowout.
2.  I bought G60 valve cover gasket upgrade.
3.  I bought pan gasket with integrated baffle.
4.  I siliconed the front & rear seal holders and the water outlets on the head because I prefer the longevity of silicone seal.
5.  I didn't like the fit of the O-rings for the waterpump assembly and thermostat so I bought them at FLAPS.
6.  Head gasket isn't included.

Point is that it might be cheaper just to buy intake gaskets, F&R main, cam, and intermediate shaft seals individually.

Thanks everyone for your posts.

I did look at all of the pages,  I really like how www.germanautoparts.com is set up but they dont seem to have all of the parts sutch as a HEAD GASKET.

If anyone comes up with any other sites let me know.
