Ya it could. But why would VW put that pump on an NA motor? Everything looks to be stock, but that, along with the ALT. comp valve? What was the purpose of doing a setup like that.

The car has 238K miles on it and starts up and sounds ok. I'm sure it will need some kind if fixing, like the head gasket leaking around the mating surfaces. Has some blowby but thats to be expected. Also when I key it
up, there's not glow plug light that comes on. Checked for the condition of the relay but could not find it on the fuse box, wierd. I'll have to get a service book to see where its located.

Over all, the condition seems to be pretty good. I plan for it to be my daily driver instead of the truck, (leg room and head room). Plus tilt steering wheel, PWR. steering and AC, whitch does nt function. Who needs AC in the winter anyway.

I picked up the Jetta from the son of the original owner who bought it  new somewhere back in the mid-west.

the LDA on that vehicle is probably a little bit pre-loaded and calibrated at a certain altitude.  as you rise in altitude, the pin would rise, reducing the amount of fuel (less air, less efficient burn.. black smoke etc)

so if you added boost to that line, it should add fuel accordingly, but would need a few minor adjustments (turning the starwheel)

Yeah, you like that top Rad. hose. Thats what you call on a budget. No I didn't do that, it was done before me. I think that IMC. has a new updated upper radiator hose that deletes the coolant return from that hose and has it on the coolant flange on the head. But I think its for non-AC vehicles
because it's has one less sensor bung. I'll get back to you on that hose deal though.
P.S. Yes that BAE setup is still on the far back shelf, waiting to become an antique (like it's not already).
Can I do some of the pump anroid mods to gain some HP or performance, eventhough it's an NA motor. Like the boost pin mod, or the  Gov mod?
Again, why have a turbo punp on a NA motor. What's the piont.

Sounds great, sense I'm a VW junkie parts horder. I'm sure I've got something you might want. Jetta turbo diesel badge, VW oil pan gard,  tons of diesel instrament gauge clusters, dashboards, relay's etc.
I'll take some pics later this week of things I'm willing to part with.
 Thanks, Josh

This is what happens at 10,000 ft elevation without the altitude compensating pump and my foot to the floor.  It barely smokes at all at 600 ft.

Thanks for the info on the pump. I've never even seen an altitude compensating valve before let alone a 2 door diesel Jetta. I've heard that they are kind of rear.
So if the valve was setup for lets say 1000 feet, how could I adjust it to around 100 feet, and how and where do I do the adjustment at. Or should I just un hook the thing and cap off the boost line at the anroid.
