Hello everyone. Due to some recent engine trouble, I need to replace the current engine in my 84 rabbit. The head is shot, and I should rebuild the block before throwing a new head on it. I need to get this car outa the garage and back on the road, so here a list of things I want/need, in order of importance.
Things I want:
Running TD engine, good shape, ready to attach to 020 tranny and put in a rabbit. (including manifolds and downpipe)
Running NA engine, also ready to drop into rabbit. manifolds not needed
1.6NA long block. with nonAC alt mounting brackets
1.6 NA solid lifter head in good shape ready to mount to block.
1.6 NA rebuild kit (bearings, gaskets, pistons, the whole 9 yards)
I don't want or need AC or powersteering, so any engine without these things would be a good thing.
things that would make a good deal better:
5 speed trans, (any ratio including short ratio gasser)
4 speed trans (Long ratio)
13-14" wheels, lightweight is good, cheap is also good.
I live in the NW corner of Pennsylvania, between Ohio and New York. I'm willing to pay shipping if you are willing to set it up, but I'll just load up what you have in the back of a pickup, if it's cheaper.
