Well, i've had my GTD for 2 years now. And its starting to look a little rough - So I've bought a new set of Big bumpers and a G60 arch and sill kit.
i started pulling the old parts off today! Got my new front bumper primed and the 1st coat of paint on it. Also done the number plate plynth and the GolfGTD badge to clean up the tailgate. Along with all red tail light. i've also got new wheels lined up.
I'll get pics up once its done!

Well after a very early start - several cut hands and lots of swearing the old arch trims gave up the stuggle for life!
The metal work behind the trims was better than I had hoped it would be! But the whole car shows that its been painted at somepoint in its life. Whoever has painted it has just masked around the arch trims and the side mouldings - so now that i've taked the old arches and trims off you can see the marks in the paintwork. (Paint match on the passengers side is better than the drivers side!)
Got the new arches, sill trims and newly painted bumpers on. New grill and a quick going over with the trim restorer and they look like new!
here are a few pics from todays work - still got my electric rear windows to fit (which I've had in the garage since I bought the car 2 years ago!) anda to try and find some other wheels for it (was thinking either fitting the Tresers onto it or trying to find some sweet 16's for it!
Well here you go - first looking at its worst
And now this was at 3.05pm
An a few pics from when i dropped the old bits off back at my parents

Keeping the stock downpipe at the moment - the 16v system is 2.5" front to back and its a straight through with just the backbox ending in twin 2" pipes!

Looks Great!!!
Hi, new to the forum and your car is one of the first pics I've seen.
I've had my Golf since 2000 and it is in dire need of a refresher too.
Thanks for the inspiration! I've spent the last two nights working out in the cold dark driveway doing brakes and wheel bearings.
P.S. I'm very interested in your wheels/rims. What do you call them? Any ideas where to get a set and maybe a ballpark price??
I have a set of the aluminum "teardrop" style VW rims but they are corroding badly.
Love your car.

Thanks!
The Wheels are Golf G60 Steels - genuine VAG parts - they are 6x15 et 35 and fit nicely with 195/50/15 Toyo's!
You can get them from your VW dealers - part numbers are:- 357601025M for the wheel and 871601171 for the centre cover I bought 4 wheels and 4 centre for £150
