Looking for some experience here. I am in the process of rebuilding my 1.9 TD in my passat and will be going to a rebuilt K24 turbo and Giles pump. I am wondering if someone can explain how they are installing a boost controller and what pressure they are setting it to. Also what are you using for a boost controller. I have read how some are doing it by teeing into the line on the turbo, and some are intalling a plug but I want to be sure. A diagram/picture would be helpful. Thanks
I'm gonna be using a 2-stage unit
http://www.turboxs.com/shop_prod.php?what_category=1 on basically the same unit. I'll be running 10-12psi on stage one and 22-25 on stage two.
It tees into the line from the turbo to the wastegate. Instructions are included with the unit.
hey stewardc,
I never knew they had those? thats way kewl! I was thinking of having the switch like thats on my show caddy that has a hurst "T" shifter N.O.S. button on the side and i just hold the button in for more boost for my turbo diesel caddy!
but i don't think i'll ever find one of those shifters again?
thanks Duane
Hey....Go to the Hurst site and order just a Competition Plus handle (from the parts bin) and weld it to the Rabbit bottom. We used to do it all the time at the speed shop.
I'll take a couple of pics. of my truck close up of some unique features it has for ya! the shifter i got for it is is way kewl and you would like the back window also! it's the only one i ever found!
