IP Timing
« on: November 10, 2007, 10:52:09 am »
Trying to set IP timing on '80 Rabbit with 1.6 NA.

Bently manual talks about IP's with a yellow dot.  Anybody know where this yellow dot is suppose to be?  After 27 years I dont know if this would have worn off or not, but I might be able to tell if some residual paint is there and I know the apprx location.

Im getting readings of .028 inches (might explain the horrible fuel mileage).  So this means fuel is being delivered too early, and I should rotate the pump counterclockwise about .024" for pump w/o yellow dot (.014" w/yellow dot)?

Thanks for the insight....

Screw the dot, just set it for .040"
