Tuning a 1.6 N/A engine

Hi there guys! I'm new here and I have a project... I own a Lada Niva (small 4x4 SUV from Russia) and I'm planning to put a 1.6 non-turbo diesel engine from volks in it (since it will surely go in some deep water, I prefer not to have a turbo on the engine)... Now the regular specs on a Niva are about 80hp and 94 ft-lb of torque and I would really like to get something close to that with the diesel engine, so what would you recommand?

i don't know if you can achieve those figure with a na 1.6 but i would start with a Giles pump, a tuned intake runner, and a larger free flowing manifold and exhaust. good luck with your swap.
