downsizing a 1.9
« on: November 01, 2007, 08:24:12 pm »
Just wondering if anyone knows if a 1.6 na motor out of a 83 rabbit will fit into a 93 aaz td while the aaz undergoes repair.   The aaz runs well and starts everytime but needs some head work and the crank bolt fixed.  (wobble wobble wobble).  The 1.6 runs very well (220,000 km)  and is sitting in a neighbours yard with the floors rotted.  Is it worth the trouble to put in, Or should I just be patient?  Any tips or pitfalls to avoid with this exchange?  What's a far price for the rabbit?  Cheers.

Thanks for the responses, I'm going to go ahead with it and I'm sure I'll be back with a question or two.  What did people do before the internet?  Looking forward to getting this diesel on the road.  Thanks again
