What is the build combo for a franken motor guy's?? 1.9 head on a 1.6 block........... :?
I was told by TDIRacing this week, that Dave (PP) can make more power with the IDI's, than can be made with the TDI's.  :o  Man are my ears pointed. I want to hear much more. ( I have a project in mind !!)

Cool BB, I have family in Provo....
which combination ( considering valve/cylinder wall clearance/compression ratio/etc ) is a consideration for the 1.6L block?

Do a search for Franken, you will gets lots of info.  Basic run down is it is a direct bolt on if you have a hydro block.  If you have the mech block you will need to block off one passage.

Benefits include larger valves, more free flowing designed ports, and a reduction in compression ratio.  If you install 1.9TD injectors you will get the additional benefit of "dual stage" injection.  Combine this with the metal head gasket and you will have a setup that should allow you to run more fuel at greater boost.  This means more power.
Add the 3" Down pipe for 300 bucks, Mod your IP following the directions in the FAQ section and away you go.
Of course an intercooler will help greatly as would a IP rebuilt by Giles or Tintin.
Hope this helps.  Jim

There are a few members who are pushing big HP out of the IDI.
635Racer
Malone
Andy2

Over in Europe we have members running high HP as well,  I just have'nt had my coffee yet and am pulling a brain cramp as to the names.

BB,
Are you finding more of a market for the AAZ heads now that the 1.6/1.9 Franken engine combination  info is out there?

Well i looks like it comes down to pistons, and it sound like some one is working on them.

I guess the question i will have to pose, obviousely not in this form, is the potential power difference.

Thanks for the Info.
