Need some help from people in the Vancouver area
« on: October 23, 2007, 05:42:42 pm »
I need someone from the vancouver to hook me up with a few junkyards there, a friend of mine needs some diesel parts (a complete engine  ). So if anyone from there can send me a few phone numbers or knows someone who has a running complete engine for sale (1.6NA, TD or 1.9), let me know.

Thanks a lot guys!

Try Gordons VW, Autobahn dismantlers, or Hope import.

diesel parts

Mostly I have found that diesel mechanical  parts availability and prices are much better in eastern Canada than out west. The cars here don't rust out as fast so they don't get scrapped for failing safety inspections. I couldn't find an AAZ head to save my life a while ago locally. But there were several available out east for reasonable prices. Conversely if you are looking for an older VW diesel car to rebuild there are some around but they usually have lots of KMs. These are just my observations but they seem consistent to me. Some of the wreckers who have VWs won't  sell  diesel parts preferring to keep them for themselves to restore cars they get in. Makes it hard to find used stuff to fix your own car. Cheers Dan
