well I'm pretty sure that the timing belt scheduled maint. is at 80,xxx for these is it not?
so no, that hasn't been done.
I'm not sure what you want me to tell you. I'll look through the service book to check if anything is documented. I haven't had any issues with this golf and nothing has come up within the few months we have owned it. I am selling due to financial reasons. My wife doesn't want to get rid of it but I've decided that our credit cards need to be paid off ASAP.
I change the oil on the regular 3-4k interval w/ Rotella full syn 5w40 and bosch filter. So did the previous owner that lived in maine. He hadn't driven the golf that much since he was running his old mercedes on grease around town.
I think I'm the third owner. just posted the vin#, so if you want to do a carfax.

I think sometimes we are becoming the TDI site, When I say this I mean, we are becoming a little mean. Normally if I think a price is too high for a car, I don't buy it. I usually don't call the person and tell them "your price is too high" . I read recently others griping about how people are treated on the tdi site. Why would we also act like that? Good luck with your sale. I don't mean to rant.

Ditto, this community is nice in the regard that it's pretty civil, TDIclub is out of control though, and I'd hate to see that happen over here. If the price is too high, it won't sell, it's as simple as that.

i personally think it can be worth it to purchase a vehicle that is a little more expensive from someone who really takes care of the vehicle as opposed to someone who turns around cars quickly because they don't follow proper maintenance schedules or driving habits.
if the seller seems so eager to get rid of the car that he/she reduced the price significantly, it could be buyer beware (you guys know what i'm talking about here...) if not its your lucky day!
an extra couple thousand now, or quite a few thousand later on a new motor and possibly much much more. but then again i don't really know D1ES3L  but hopefully his driving habits are good. these cars do need the occasional 'beating' to clean them out, but need to be babied a bit when cold to protect that precious turbo! maybe thats the reason vw switched to a 5 cyl 2.5 engine? ooooh more displacement! powerful! consumes more fuel than the 1.8T and has about the same power, but the turbo is more fun
