biodiesel question
« on: October 13, 2007, 08:10:14 pm »
I recently bought my 81 i.6 NA rabbit.  It has about 99,000 miles on it.  The injector pump was replaced by one of the previous owners.  My question is this, is it OK to run some biodiesel through it to clean up the tank, lines, IP, injectors, etc.?  A locl truck stop sells B12.  I don't want it to eat up all my fuel lines, gaskets, etc.  What are your thoughts?  Thanks.

B20 or below should have no effect on rubber lines / seals.   It will however do what you want, clean up the junk.  Keep a spare fuel filter ready.

"Making the jump NA to TD" slow but sure.

Outstanding!  Thanks for the info.  Looks like I'll be doing my part to reduce our dependence on foreign oil from here on out.
