My plan is to use GTD nozzles from Smog and shim up the 130s to crack at 155. Any problem with this plan (LibbyPA)?
Any opinion on whether adding or subtracting a few bar would be worthwhile? My assumption is that lower pop pressure = advanced injection timing and likely poor atomization (more fuel but larger droplets). Higher pop pressure would have the opposite effect.
Also, is there any online source for shims.
I know this topic has been covered to death but I spent some time serching and there are just too many general posts with "injector", "pressure" and "bar" in them.
Did you see this post?
I think there are a couple pages on breaking pressures
click here I think it starts on page 5
Tyler,
Thanks. Had to read through a few pages on CR before I found it.
I didn't get that suggestion that 1850 PSI was a maggic cracking point for fuel economy with standard timing, sounds way too low.
From what I have read on the subject I would be led to think that running lower crack pressures and slightly retarded timing would yeild longer injection duration meaning more fuel and longer burn on the power side of TDC which would be where you want it.
