I am going to take the Eco down to the truck wash and give it a good decreasing before I get started.
Castrol Super Clean Jug says to use full strength on engines but, when I did that a while back on my TDI it reacted with most of the aluminum and etched it.
Whats a good ratio of degreaser and water?? 1:1??
Thanks,
use something else. Something that is safe on Aluminum.
Open for suggestions, its pretty greasy, I don't think simple green is up to this one. Anyone ever use "Greased Lightning"? or should I just use "GUNK".

You can use super clean..you just have to not let it dry or use it on a warm engine. Spray it on..use a brush to losen up all the gunk and hose it off. If you leave it on it WILL eat a hole in aluminum but if you do as I say it will look brand new.
It eats finger prints too...that slimey feeling you have on your hands after playing with SuperClean is your skin melting.
Thanks, I used the super clean, I did 2 parts water 1 part SC mixed up in a little $8 pump sprayer from WallyWorld, so it didn't eat my skin. I did it with the engine cold and in my driveway with it on ramps so I got under neath too.
I did it twice and used a little Karcher Pressure washer turned out good, lots of shiny parts and no grease.
Took for ever to clean up the drive and me afterwards though
but, at least now I won't have to deal with the grease when I work on it.
