Will a 4 door interior fit in a 2 door Mk1 Jetta?

I am looking at a 4 door Mk1 jetta parts car for my 2 door jetta mk1. What i was wondering if the interior pieces were interchangable between these cars. the main things that i need are the dash, the rear seats, and the carpets. if these parts fit then this would be a really good deal for me.

hey adam.

the only real difference is the stuff around the front doors. the carpet should fit (the front part only) because i believe there is a cut in it under the front seats. the rear part wont be long enough to fill the entire door opening i dont think.

the plastic trims around that area wont fit as well.

dash will be the same. rear seats will work, mount points are PROBABLY the same.

2 dr rabbit carpet will fit and will be easier to find that jetta coupe carpet. however most rabbits you find are US built, and do not offer black carpet (black is what most people want) so you might have to look for a '79 canadian market GTI (german built) which did come with black carpet.....which, coming full circle, is harder to find than jetta coupe carpet.

thanks for the help really the main things were the dash and the rear seats i can live without a carpet or maybe just carpet in front for awhile. do you know of any places that might reproduce carpet for rabbits? I remember seeing a build on another form and he had gotten black carpet that was reproduced from the US.

if you saw the interior of my rabbit you wouldn't want any more opinion from me!

carpet kits are available but often multipiece and obviously not original. i prefer to find original stuff but the original carpets don't go up as high on the firewall as i'd like. if you do find a good source please let me know.
