Why do some have them and some don't?
How come they don't leak?
How come I can't find them in ETKA?
If making one do you think pressed stainless is the way to go?
Do you think copper maybe a better material?

how come they don't leak??? who's to say they don't  :lol:  maybe thats why i feel so tired when i drive with the windows up  :shock:  :lol:

but seriously, as long as both mated surfaces are for the most part flat, they should expand and compress against eachother to form some type of good seal.  any kind of nick or gouge in the surface would make for a very small and unnoticeable leak... just maybe a second or two of turbo lag possibly???

what is the highest temp that the copper gasket goop rated for? i'd like to use it on my beast.

this is somewhat related, but GM never used gaskets on their exhaust manifolds for years! i thought they were just cheap, but they didnt leak (usually)
