any ideas how to remove one from an AAZ ? wanna use a JX tube/guide instead . it appears well and truly stuck , it is the type that dosnt have a lug that bolts to pump
Punch it out from underneath.
If you don't want to remove the oil pan to properly remove the dipstick tube then you'll just have to destroy the tube using vice grips to hold onto the tube while using a hammer to hit the grips as the tube is pressed in.If you are lucky it might come out if not then you'll have to pull the pan.I've never had a single issue with an AAZ tube only the $2 plastic funnel/guide which I commonly replace. Is that the only reason you are replacing the whole thing?
Because he is putting it in a Vanagon, and it's better to use the JX/CS/KY dipstick and tube as you can then check the oil from the rear flap.
