WTB / WTT: Pump Drive Gear and Cam Sprocket from IDI Volvo 6-Cylinder diesel or IDI Audi 5-Cylinder diesel.

I am now Giles' apprentice at Performance Diesel Injection in Markham, and we need a pump drive gear and cam sprocket off of one or the other of these cars. This is for a pump that Giles is doing for an Audi 5000 5-cyl diesel engine. It is going to be sweet.

The pump drive gear that we need is a 17mm ID, whereas the newer ones are 20mm. If you have these, or know where to get them, please let either Giles or myself know. Thanks!

Talk to Quick TD he has one BMW electronic pump left, and I think it might be very similar to what you seek/have what you need on it, he would know for sure though.
Waiting for a bigger better diesel to come along.

Thanks, Slave2School; We're not looking for the pump itself - we're looking for the gear which drives the pump. The Beamer pump won't do the job, I don't think.

What we need are the pump drive gear and cam sprocket off the engine.

I could loan you both, but I'd need them back. How long would you need them for?

Ah. Pretty sure that they're going to be needed permanently. An Audi 5000 motor is being dropped into another car, and in order to drive the fuel pump, we need that gear and sprocket. Since they have to be matched, we've got to have both, and since the drive gear has to fit the smaller, older-style pump shaft, we're limited to using these ones.

So the loan offer is much appreciated, but I think we need to actually buy / trade / otherwise acquire them permanently.

Ahhh, I thought it was for testing purposes; sorry.

I'll see what I can scrounge up though.

No worries at all, and thank you. Any help is much appreciated.

Once this thing is underway / completed, many more details will follow. It's going to be quite the job - I know I'm excited.  8)

All right - Giles has come up with another method which will allow us to make use of the existing pieces. We no longer need the above-mentioned gear and sprocket.

Thanks for your help, everybody!
