Tools and gauge for injection pump timing setting
« on: September 25, 2007, 08:50:31 am »
Hi,
I am about to set the timing of my injectors pump. As this is my first time I could use some advice. I would also like to know where best buy a gauge and whatever other tools that may be needed.

Thanks.
Haybayian
Keep it simple if you can.

This guy makes a decent kit, not the highest quality but will definitely get the job done. I think shipping took less then 2 weeks

I bought the pump rebuild kit from this guy
http://www.emiata.com/DieselVW/

I'm sure there are lots of other sources out there as well

Just make sure your dial gauge is in metric increments... mine is in US Customary, and it made timing a pain in the backside.

The emiata guy has tools as well same price as "buy it now" but quality is not as good. I bought from him , ok but could have been nicer. Cheers Dan
