its running, but i still have issues

ok thanks to the help of the board i was able to correctly time the injection pump. so im out on the road now, but im having some random issues with things and i have some questions.

first: the coolant temp needle isnt doing anything, the light was flashing but i cleaned the resevoir and the red light stopped flashing ( puddle surrounding the connector) but  still no temp reading???

second: my oil light starts flashing as soon as i turn the car on and it starts buzzing when i get moving and doesnt stop til i turn it off. oil level is good, not really sure whats up here. i suspect something is up with the oil filter flange, i had to use two additions for clearance reasons and i am sure this isnt allowing an accurate reading. ill take a pic if anyones curious what im talking about. the problem here is im not exactly sure what the best way to fix it is.

get a mechanical oil pressure gauge to make sure that the sensor is broken.  check the water temp sender connections too.

i went to the junkyard and got a single terminal sender. when i took the larger dual terminal style out it was obvious that with the extra pieces i had to add for clearance, the sender wasnt getting any oil at all to make a reading off of.

the single terminal sender that i got said 1.0- 2.0 bar on the back, not sure if thats too high or low since it was off of a gas caddy, but either way its comin off, there is oil leaking from there now  :x

im going to try to switch the spots for the oil feed line so i can put the dual terminal back on. the dual terminal wont fit on the spot thats closer to the block so im going to try and switch em and we'll see what happens. i still need to get my hands on a pressure gauge.

what are the IDI motors usually running as far as fuel pressure goes?

it depends which part.  the injection system is around 150 bar for turbo's and 130 bar for N/A.

the injection pump sucks the fuel, so there should be a vacuum from there on to the tank.  it isn't a bad idea to install a 'lift' pump to lower the strain on the pump.

Have an example of a lift pump and where it should go? I've got a 90 TD with high mileage and this sounds like a lovely idea to help the IP make it last a little longer...

Cheers,
