TURBO REPLACEMENTS?
« on: September 06, 2007, 04:23:04 am »
Guys, I have an AAZ engine in my Golf MK3 and was thinking about replacing it for something better. I beleive I have a KKK turbo in it, which turbo should I replace it with?

Would it be a straight swop or is there a hell of a lot to do?

Thanks

if you have k14 you can swap it for k24 or garrett t3. If you have kkk k03 you need to change manifold

use search
1.6td 170hp 290nm powered by Holset - sold
golf mk2 1.9tdi PD 193hp/400nm ;)

might just have to do that bert. good to finally meet you to. spoke to a chap who stayed until later in the day at the track and finally managed to get 5 runs!

how easy/difficult was it to change over to the T3 turbo?

is it a case of change the manifold, oil feed lines etc or a straight swop?

thanks

Sal

The turbo was a manifold change, the oil feed pipe was just rebent to fit the T3,the kkk drain pipe was cut and welded to the T3 pipe, the exhaust downpipe will also be different,so good time to dump the cat too
Theres a bit of alloy to cut off the AAZ inlet manifold, thats about it really,im well pleased with the performance.
