Oil filter, relocate and cool?
« on: September 03, 2007, 06:23:12 pm »
I'm trying to think something ahead on my project.  Anyone know where I can get a kit to angle the oil filter back.  (It appears that a quantum uses a swept angle adapter) Or relocate it all together?  The engine mounts I'll be using will interfere with the filter.  I also need to install a cooler too.  I was thinking about just using one of the "universal" oil filter relocater and adding a air/oil cooler inline with it as well.

Anyone did anything like this before?  I know the turbos use a sandwich oil/water cooler mounted to the filter adapter.

Anyone swapping a vw diesel into a suzuki samurai needs the angled oil filter bracket. I don't think it comes with the oil cooler attached though.
Acme adapters manufactures a kit to swap the diesel into the samurai. The angled filter bracket is one of the parts listed as a separate sale item.

The oil filter used on the VW diesel has the same physical dimensions, thread pitch gasket size etc. as a ford PH8 oil filter, so any relocate kit for a ford V8 should work fine on the VW.
